Global Astronomy & Astrophysics Challenge
GAAC is an international team competition for students who can connect astronomy, astrophysics, mathematics, and observation into precise scientific reasoning.
Registration opens on 29 June 2026.
Competition Format
Individual qualification, then collaborative knockouts.
Individual Qualification
Each participant competes individually for 50 minutes across 40 multiple-choice questions. The three scores are combined, and the top 32 teams advance.
Team Challenge
From the Round of 32 onward, teams solve 7 non-MCQ questions together in 1 hour, with assigned proctors monitoring every team.
